Conference Background

Global plastics production doubled in the past two decades to reach 460 million tonnes. Global plastic waste generation more than doubled to 353 million tonnes. Thailand’s petrochemical sector is the largest in the Southeast Asian region and the 16th largest in the world. Asia is also responsible for over 80% of marine leakage and 8 of the top 10 contributing countries are from this region, with Thailand ranking number 6.

In line with the government's target towards a Zero Waste Nation, it has become more than ever pressing for everyone to build upon the expertise of all stakeholders in this ecosystem on the development of plastic recycling industry.

Apex is organising the ASEAN Circular Plastics Summit 2023 on the 29th-30th, March, 2023, Bangkok, Thailand virtually and onsite in Thailand. Bringing together all concerned stakeholders of the entire plastics value chain including material, chemical, waste management, recyclers, brand owners, government agencies and NGOs in a dialogue of circular strategies to achieve zero plastic waste in the region for a sustainable future.
